Join Wagner's virtual residency at the New York Historical Society's "Academy for American Democracy Online

Hello 6th grade historians!

We have an amazing opportunity for you during remote learning! We are happy to offer you an amazing experience hosted by the New York Historical Society! The program they are offering our students is called “The Academy for American Democracy Online” and will take place weekly on Wednesdays starting May 27th and ending on June 17th. Each weekly session will be from 12:00PM until 2:15PM with a 15 minute break from 1:00-1:15.

This program is exploring the essential question of: How does democracy evolve?

Each week will have a different focus question that will help you to learn about how democracy started in Athens and how it has changed over time and impacted modern governments around the world, especially the United States. By the time you finish your last session, you and your peers will have created an online magazine filled with the work you complete during the program. You can learn more about the program  here

So how do you get involved?
This program is only open to 35 students. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the google form on the G6 SS Remote Learning at Wagner classroom page and submit it. If over 35 students apply, we will pick the first 35 students who filled out the form. If you plan on applying, you MUST be available for ALL sessions and for the entire work period each Wednesday. By filling out the form, you are committing to that.

We are looking forward to sharing this amazing experience with you!

-Ms. Yodowitz, Ms. Walsh, Ms. Schnapper, Mr. Disarno

Reminder: The google form is posted on our Social Studies google classroom page today.
