Dear 8th grade students and families,

 

We wanted to share with you an exciting opportunity from the New York Historical Society for students this week.  Educators from the NYHS are hosting weekly online lessons for students as part of their “History @ Home” series during remote learning in NYC. 

 

We hope that you are familiar with fantastic educational programs from the NYHS, as educators from the NYHS visited all Wagner 8th grade Social Studies classes earlier this spring.  

  

This is in OPTIONAL opportunity. If you would like for your child to participate this session, please use the link below to register.

Thursday, April 30, 2-3 PM EST
Students will examine primary sources to understand how the outlook and daily life of American citizens was altered after the stock market crash of 1929.
Vocabulary: Black Tuesday, Stock Market, economic depression, Fireside Chat, Hooverville, shanty town, W.P.A
