Career Day 2020

Dear Wagner Families,
The Guidance Department is hosting a Career Day for eighth grade students on Thursday, March 5th. We are looking for a diverse group of presenters representing a variety of careers to speak to our eighth grade students.  If you are interested in being a presenter, please email me at with your name, job title, and email address.  Presenters will be asked to speak to three groups of students for approximately 15-20 minutes per group.  Please remember to email me directly instead of responding to the list serve.

New York International Children's Film Festival 2020
February 21 - March 15

Dear Parents,  
It's finally time! NYICFF 2020 is just around the corner and will be showcasing the best new films for ages 3-18. The Festival is packed full of fantastic film programs for your family this year and, even better, our school earns $3 back for every ticket you purchase!

Check out the Festival's wildly-popular and diverse short film programs: Short Films 2 (ages 8-14), Short Films 3(ages 12+),  Friends & Neighbors: Japan(ages 9+) and more
Calling all activists! Meet seven incredible young activists from around the world with unwavering courage to transform our future in this new documentary-- Forward: Tomorrow Belongs to Us (ages 8+).
"You may not know it yet, but us children are saving the world."
And if it’s anime that you love, check out NYICFF opening night film, Children of the Sea (ages 10+) on Feb 21st! 
To buy tickets and raise money for our school simply:

  3. Purchase tickets

And just like that, for each ticket you purchase, $3 will be donated to our PA!
Roosevelt Racers Workshop for Middle School Students - Saturday 2/8

On February 8th, Eleanor Roosevelt High School’s Roosevelt Racers ( F1 in Schools team, website:  https://www.rooseveltracers.com/) will be hosting the first  Roosevelt Racers STEM Workshop. The workshop is designed to inspire middle school students to use Information Technology to learn about physics, engineering design, manufacturing, graphics, branding, leadership and teamwork, and apply them in an imaginative, competitive and exciting way.


The event will expose 8th-grade middle school students to a variety of hands-on lessons such as entrepreneurship, computer-aided design (CAD), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and much more! In the end, students will work in teams to create the most innovative brand and fastest car for a grand prize.


This email is to announce that registration is now open and on a first-come, first-served basis! The middle school teacher/chaperone should bring the signed media release forms to Eleanor Roosevelt High School on the day of the workshop. Members of the Roosevelt Racers are eager to go to your school to give a presentation about the workshop. You can arrange a visit by emailing us at  rooseveltracers@gmail.com.
